British singer Raye has issued a heartfelt apology after dozens of fans were denied entry to her Paris concert despite holding valid tickets.
The incident occurred during her recent performance at the Accor Arena, where around 65 ticket holders were reportedly turned away following a technical problem linked to ticket validation.
Fans Left Waiting Outside
According to reports, affected concertgoers waited outside the venue for up to two hours while the show was already underway. Many believed their tickets were valid, only to be told they could not enter.
The issue was later attributed to a system error that meant some tickets were not fully validated at the time of purchase.
The situation quickly drew criticism online, with disappointed fans sharing their experiences.
RAYE Says She Is ‘Completely Devastated’
The BRIT Award winner responded publicly on social media soon after the incident.
In her message, she said she was “completely devastated” for the fans who missed the show. She stressed the problem was outside her control but acknowledged the distress caused.
The singer described the situation as “unacceptable” and apologised directly to those affected.
Compensation Offered to Fans
Ticket providers have already refunded the impacted customers and issued vouchers. However, RAYE has gone further.
She promised each affected fan:
- complimentary tickets to a future show of their choice
- and a signed vinyl record
She admitted the gesture could not fully make up for the disappointment but said she wanted to “soften the blow”.
Tour Continues Despite Setback
The Paris date was part of RAYE’s ongoing This Tour May Contain New Music world tour, which launched earlier this year.
The singer has since travelled to the UK to begin the next leg, with upcoming performances scheduled in Manchester, Glasgow and London.
Industry watchers note that despite the hiccup, demand for the tour remains strong.
